Condo Hotel Financing
Condo Hotels, like The Resort at Squaw Creek and the Village at Squaw Valley, are examples of the unique type of properties in our market that many lenders are unwilling to fund. At the start of the economic down turn in 2008 financing for Condo Hotels completely dried up. We have now seen a slight change; some lenders will now loan on condominiums in a Condo Hotel that have a four burner stove top and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. Currently there are no lenders that are issuing loans on the Resort at Squaw Creek. There is one lender that has been willing to loan on the Village at Squaw Valley for the last several years and it appears that more lenders have now eliminated their restriction on funding Condo Hotels.
