An alliance between Aspen Skiing Co. and KSL Capital Partners (the owners of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows) announced last week that their acquisition of Intrawest Resort Holdings has been completed. 8% Increase In Dollar Volume for Tahoe Real Estate Sales in the First Half of 2017

Lake Tahoe Airbnb Hosts Earned $32million + This Ski Season

Lake Tahoe is honored to be a stage for women in this year’s AMGEN Tour of California. The 2017 multi-stage event will cover nearly 575 miles of terrain May 11-20. Have You Met a Squawdog?


Our four-legged hometown heroes are the Squawdogs, or more officially, The Squaw Avalanche Rescue Dogs. This program was founded back in the 1980’s with a single dog and handler. They’ve grown steadily, and now have 6 active, certified dogs on the hills, and another puppy in training. Squaw uses the Canadian CARDA training standard and hosts annual Avalanche Rescue Dog Seminars for dogs and their handlers. 17 Percent Increase in Lake Tahoe Real Estate Sales in 2016.

A 12 percent rise in median home prices to $549,000 and an eight percent increase in homes sold (1376) resulted in a 17 percent increase in total dollar volume of sold homes ($1,128,257,767) in 2016 over 2015. Homes priced over $1,000,000 increased in units sold by 28 percent.  Those priced under $1,000,000 only increased by 4 percent. Very Impressive Sales Activity at Lake Tahoe in the First Two Quarters of 2016


In the entire Lake Tahoe area sales volume increased by 13 percent compared to the same period in 2015 and the increase in units sold was up 12 percent. The median price for the 1st and 2nd quarters is $525,000, a two percent rise, and the average price rose one percent to $779,128.
