The Cushing Crossing At Squaw Valley Is Sunday, May 28th at 1:00pm

The 27th Annual Cushing Crossing was moved from the original scheduling in April to May 6th and now again to Sunday May 28, 2017.  Don’t miss this fun entertaining pond skimming event.  Spectators will see some great costumes, some big spills and have a lot of laughs.  Registration for competitors is at 9:00 am at the KT Base Bar and the event starts at 1:00 pm in the pond to the west of the KT Base Bar.  The Awards ceremony will be at 3:00 pm. Nate Holland, an American snowboarder, has won 7 gold medals in the X Games, with a world record for most medals won in a row in Boardercross, referred to as “Snowboard Cross” by FIS. He’s also competed in the Winter Olympics three times, including a near medal miss at fourth place in 2010. Boardercross is a downhill snowboard competition where 4-6 snowboarders race through a narrow course with cambered turns, jumps, drops, rollers, and both steep and flat sections taken at maximum speed.... Read more »
