Pineland and Timberland are located about 5 miles south of Tahoe City, on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. Pineland and Timberland neighborhoods feature level streets with forest and creek settings. The main street in Pineland provides access to Ward Creek and the backside of Alpine Meadows ski area and Alpine Peaks subdivision. Timberland is a 3 x 3 block neighborhood surrounded by forest with a community center called Rideout. This community center houses a community garden and activities and events for use by community members and visitors. Homes in these two neighborhoods are woodsy cabins and single family homes. They have a very family friendly mountain neighborhood feel.
This part of the lake offers the best sunrise vantage points of any at Lake Tahoe as well as lots of water access for sailing, wave runners, water skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding, hiking and mountain biking, and snowmobiling. As well as access to Homewood and Alpine Meadows ski resorts and the best back-country skiing the Lake has to offer.
These two neighborhoods are accessed on Lake Tahoe’s Westshore from highway 89 from either Tahoe City to the north or South Lake Tahoe to the south. These neighborhoods are just 0.5 miles south on Hwy 89 from Sunnyside, which has two popular restaurants with locals; the Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge know for its fine dinning, lunch on the deck overlooking the water, and fish taco night in winter, and the Fire Sign CafĂ©, the best breakfast spot on the Lake!
